| Planning is not for the faint of heart.
Conflict has to be managed and resolved. This book describes and analyzes continuing education program development with a five-phase approach to planning a successful program: generating ideas; identifying and obtaining the necessary resources; determining the potential for the program's success; completing the necessary planning, budgeting, marketing and administrative details; and conducting, evaluating, and wrapping up the program. Existing literature provides some guidance and support,
but much of the sequence for the book is derived from practice. The book is a guide for those new to the field of continuing education program development and for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in courses on program development. Experienced program planners will find it a useful resource and review as well. It can be used in vocational and technical education, parks and recreation, cooperative extension and social work, public and private organizations, and trade and
