In this supplement, an attempt is made to list all publications on the history of geology that have appeared during the years 1979 to 1984. In addition, a large number of books and papers published before or during 1978, but not treated in the previous bibliography, are listed;
in particular, 168 journal series not surveyed earlier have now been searched. Furthermore, a number of corrections or additions are made to the entries and brief biographies published earlier, some of the latter being expanded considerably. In all, some 7,100 additional references are included, together with an additional 1,548 brief biographies. As a comprehensive listing, this work is intended primarily as a reference tool for the professional or the student of geology. |
